Physical Therapy Services for Women
One in three women suffers from a disorder of the pelvic floor. The pelvic floor consists of muscles, ligaments, connective tissue, and nerves that support and control the rectum, uterus, vagina, and bladder. Damage to this “floor” may result from childbirth, chronic diseases, neurological disorders, repeated heavy lifting/straining, poor posture, infections, effects of menopause and aging, or surgery.
Integrated Physical Therapy recognizes the unique healthcare needs of women which change with development, pregnancy, and aging. Janelle Stewart, our women’s health therapist, participated in post-graduate training through the American Physical Therapy Association for the treatment of pelvic floor disorders. All services are offered in a confidential and compassionate manner.
